DIANA BRAITHWAITE & CHRIS WHITELEY’S PERFORMANCE: – SUGAR & GOLD – The Story Of The Underground Railroad in Canada 
This family-friendly show tells the story of free and formerly enslaved settlers who followed the underground railway to Canada. The stories are told through songs, spoken word and images. Diana’s ancestors came to Canada through the Underground Railway and settled in the hamlet of Glen Allen, part of what was known as the” Queens Bush”. In 2008 an Ontario Heritage Trust Provincial plaque was unveiled to commemorate this settlement and the more than 1,500 black settlers that lived there for over 30 years, beginning in about 1820.
